ASI Announces Integration Partnership with Payment Logistics

Silver Spring, MD – October 1, 2015- Action Systems Inc. (ASI), maker of Restaurant Manager™ POS is pleased to announce the availability of an EMV Ready payment integration solution in time for the October 1, 2015 EMV liability shift deadline. Under a strategic partnership with San Diego based Payment Logistics (PL), ASI has incorporated PL’s Paygistix™ technology platform into their RM Gateway Service to handle payments made via smart cards and digital wallets such as Apple Pay™.

In an effort to reduce credit and debit card fraud, card brands such as Visa and MasterCard have mandated the EMV standard in the United States and have changed the rules regarding liability for counterfeit credit and debit card fraud. As of October 1, 2015, the card brands hold restaurants (and most other merchants) liable for in-store counterfeit card fraud transactions unless their POS systems and payment terminals support EMV. Effective immediately, Restaurant Manager users who enroll in the RM Gateway Service powered by Paygistix will avoid “EMV Liability” and, under most circumstances, will be shielded from fraudulent counterfeit card transactions by using certified EMV/NFC devices for payment processing.

Restaurant Manager users who signup for RM Gateway powered by Paygistix will be able to choose from a variety of EMV Ready payment devices, including a customer facing multi-lane terminal with signaturecapture, a compact wifi enabled terminal with built-in printer and more traditional countertop devices. RM Gateway powered by Paygistix is one of the payment processing solutions that supports traditional tip adjustment on EMV sales transactions regardless of the cardholder verification method. In other words, the new service does not disrupt the traditional work flow for tendering payments and adjusting tips.
